Joe’s Diner on Sycamore Soft Opening

July 23, 2010

The old Diner on Sycamore returned to life today as Joe’s Diner on Sycamore began their “soft open”. The grand opening is currently set for August 10th, but they are going to basically run pre-season for the next few weeks to work out the kinks. The menu is still pretty extensive for a “limited menu”. The waiter […]

Vincenzo’s Ristorante Italiano

March 26, 2010

One of our favorite Italian restaurants, if not the favorite, is Vincenzo’s on Chester Road. If it wasn’t for the fact that it was way out in Springdale, we would go a lot more often. It is on our list of special event restaurants, and for my wife’s birthday we made a visit.

Mo’s Bacon Bar

March 11, 2010

I first became familiar with Vosges Haut-Chocolat because of their exotic truffles. I think we saw them featured on Food Network, and my wife was intrigued. Since that time, I have become a regular customer. I was intrigued when they came out with the Bacon Bar, and had to give it a try.

Red Fox Grill

March 10, 2010

The Red Fox Grill has been around for a long time. It is located in an unassuming building catty corner to P&G’s Central Building. I have heard it called P&G Cafeteria North. It is a classic grill that serves sandwiches, soups and burgers. I have been going here long enough to remember the Dry Cleaner […]

Salted Caramel’s Bacon Bourbon Caramel Corn

March 9, 2010

I like caramel corn. I was always frustrated by Cracker Jacks, though, because of the annoying peanuts. Don’t get between me and the caramel corn please. Just before the Super Bowl someone got my attention by tweeting about Bacon Bourbon Caramel Corn. Despite my inclination to just caramel corn I was intrigued by the addition of bacon. […]

Mayberry

March 8, 2010

I am easing into Bacon Week here on pFoody with an overdue review of Mayberry. Mayberry bills itself as A Grassroots American Eatery and is located downtown between Scotties and Hamburger Mary’s. The lunch menu can be described as comfort food with a twist. They do not have a web site for Mayberry (at least that I […]

Ruthai’s Lunch Buffet

March 5, 2010

I am a big fan of Ruthai’s, you can read my previous review for more details. In February Ruthai started a Lunch buffet. Every Tuesday-Thursday you can get the buffet at Ruthai for $8. Of course, they launched the buffet right when we got a lot of snow, so I did not make until the […]

Take The Cake Cafe Sunday Brunch

December 24, 2009

Take the Cake (TTC) recently expanded their hours to include Sunday brunch from 9 am to 2 pm. I have gone on a number of occasions now, and while I hear they have many options, the only one I care about is this:

Rhutai’s Open on Christmas

December 23, 2009

If you are looking to go out to eat on Christmas, Tim and Ruthai let me know on our last visit that they will open at 5:00 pm on December 25th. Sure you can sit around eating leftovers, but wouldn’t you really rather have something like this?

On The Road: Nu-Way Weiners in Macon, GA

October 20, 2009

I’ve heard of Nu-Way Weiners (Warning: very obnoxious soundtrack on web site) for years. However, since Macon is the home of Fincher’s, I have never ventured to a Nu-Way to sample them. This trip I decided to make the sacrifice, and give it a shot. Well first off, I am not guilty of a typo […]
